Book Description:
Ellie is planning to bring Little Duck Pond Café cakes to the surrounding villages with her Travelling Cake Van! But as she’s ‘expecting’ to make a rather more personal delivery of her own very soon, will Katja be the one to get behind the wheel of this fabulously mouth-watering journey into the countryside?
My Thoughts:
I absolutely loved the idea of a travelling cake van, more so as it helps cut down on food waste and brings delicious cakes to the surrounding local villages. The prices are an absolute bargain to boot so everyone is a winner. Such an ingenious idea. What was even better is we get to meet lots of new characters in the different villages which really made this story.
The story mainly focuses on Katja who is going through a rough time with her love life. Whilst it is getting her down, I loved her positivity to keep on going. Driving the cake van gives her some what of an escape and the people she meets certainly make a big impression on her. Mo was such a great character who made me cringe and laugh in equal measure. Ivan was another one who was hilarious and brought even more humour to the story.
The Pop-Up Cake Shop was an easy read that will have your mouth watering as well as guaranteed to lift your mood. There is so much to love about the story as well as the characters. Rosie Green never fails to put a smile on my face with the books in this series as they literally melt your heart and lighten your soul. A gorgeous, feel good novel!
My thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources for inviting me to be part of the tour.
Rosie Green has been scribbling stories ever since she was little. Back then they were rip-roaring adventure tales with a young heroine in perilous danger of falling off a cliff or being tied up by ‘the baddies’. Thankfully, Rosie has moved on somewhat, and now much prefers to write romantic comedies that melt your heart and make you smile, with really not much perilous danger involved at all, unless you count the heroine losing her heart in love.
Rosie’s brand new series of novellas is centred on life in a village café. The first two stories in the series are: Spring at The Little Duck Pond Cafe and Summer at The Little Duck Pond Café.
