Book Description:
What happens when you meet your perfect match… at the wrong time, in the wrong place?
Leana Mackenzie is craving something more. At twenty-two, she’s ready to trade the peaceful rhythm of her life on the Isle of Skye for the pulse of the big city. With her heart full of dreams, she leaves the comfort of her close-knit family and her quiet village, to dive headfirst into the vibrant bustle of Edinburgh.
Enter Alasdair: a talented singer-songwriter with a voice as captivating as his smile. Their chemistry is undeniable, and soon, Leana finds herself swept up in a whirlwind romance. Life with Alasdair feels like the adventure she’s always dreamed of—until the shine of city life begins to dull, and the yearning for home tugs at her soul.
But just as Leana starts to question where she truly belongs, Alasdair is offered the break of a lifetime. Now, Leana faces an impossible choice: follow the man she loves into the world of fame and fortune, or return to the quiet, predictable life she thought she’d left behind.
Home is where the heart is… but what happens when your heart is torn between two worlds?
My Thoughts:
I was totally sold on the location for this new series to me. It sounded wonderful and as much as I love Edinburgh, like Leana, my heart would have been very much torn between both settings with the Isle of Skye no doubt coming out on top.
Sparks are flying when Leana and Alasdair meet and I liked the couple immediately. Leana is very much a people pleaser, putting others before herself as well as never being able to say no if it means she can help someone. I felt tired with all that she does and could sympathise with the home sickness she experiences. Alasdair is just a gentle soul and you can easily see why Leana has fallen for him. All the characters are wonderful in this story but a special mention goes to Kyle who was just fabulous and never failed to put a smile on my face.
Coming Home to the Loch highlights issues of long distance relationships and the pulls that come from family and friends. Readers will be routing for the couple to get past what is thrown into their path and make it through to the other side firmly together. It is homely, warm and comforting with a few laughs along the way. A wonderful escape!
